RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION ( MANAGEMENT-KTU ) –Showboy

“Management of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) must reconsider their decision of driving students who owe school fees from examination hall”.
Frimpong Foster popularly known as Showboy, has on Tuesday 20th of June, 2017 on a campus base radio station ( KTU Radio ) morning show programme ( Morning Rush ) pleaded with management of KTU to reconsider their decision of driving out students who owe school fees from the examination hall.
He asserted that, students who are driven out of the examination hall as such are been plunged in a negative situation which will have such effect on them throughout the subsequent papers.
He continued, even at the S.H.S. level the government disprove such exercise when the student  is writing the final exams, equally to we in this noble university, because every semester exam is a final paper which if care is not taken and you fail, it put a lot of additional burden on the students.
“This can’t continue, because it’s unacceptable, it is a clear manifestation of what we were yearning at, that, the then increment in the fee structure was outrageous and nobody paid listening ears to our calling” He said.
Frimpong Foster ( Showboy ) was a financial officer candidate for the just ended SRC election who presented a manifesto dubbed “The Obiaa S3 3y3 manifesto. This young man was applauded by many for having such a rich insight in the affairs of the Students Representative Council (SRC) but He lost the election.
Adding to His calling, He called on the body of the Student Representative Council to at such instances prove that indeed they are the mouth piece to the entire student body.
“It is clear successive council for some time now are failing to identify their mandate and their legislative backing. But I must say, the SRC is being recognize and established the Technical University Act, 2014, and for that matter they should remember that, they have teeth and they can bite and bite well” He said.
He also added that, it is a requirement for all tertiary institutions in Ghana which Koforidua Technical University is not exception, to submit their various fees structure after composing them through the Finance Ministry to Parliament for approval which is always not fulfilled, students are always billed bills which they don’t even utilize to the fullest. It’s unfortunate. He added.
“I can say base on certain information we have intercepted that even this year academic user fees will be increase by an average of 10%, how possible. How can you increase fees just last academic year an average of about 59% and the subsequent year you increase it again. So let’s give ourselves 10years to come, how much are pupil going to pay for Tertiary education?”.
In conclusion, Showboy call on all stakeholders and supervisory body of tertiary institutions in Ghana particularly Koforidua Technical University because it does not speak well and does not paint the best picture of the institution at all.

  1. Hmmmmm....Boy U said all.

Another thing is we have paid for handouts that never came. We spent monies to read online via internet webs like Google, Wikipedia, Investopedia and other websites to equip ourselves for exams. And there is no one to call the Shots. This is an agenda in the pipelines and the financial department of KTU should get ready to answer when the media calls.
